Rich is responsible for all new business development at Ball Aerospace with application to future planetary instrument and mission concepts, including strategy, portfolio development and proposal execution. He also helps guide internal technology investments for future planetary applications. Rich has been a PI and Co-I for multiple instrument development programs, and has served on numerous NASA review panels.
Prior to his work at Ball, Rich was a research scientist at the NOAA Aeronomy Lab in the Tropospheric Chemistry group, developing instrumentation for the measurement of trace atmospheric gases from aircraft platforms. Rich has a doctorate in planetary sciences from Caltech.
